Found in the Wet Tropics World Heritage area Dillenia alata or Red Beech is part of the ancient remnants of the Gondwanan forest that once covered the Australian continent. Vibrant golden yellow flowers and red fruiting carpels that display the small fleshy coated seeds are buzz pollinated by solitary bees.
